Hi, my name is Andrea Berman and thank you for visiting The Beauty Maestra blog! The creation of this has been a long time in the making. That is, at least, a long time manifesting in my brain.
a brief history
For decades, I was OBSESSED with “finding a better mousetrap” for all things skincare and beauty. My life consisted of being a Technology Sales Exec by day and a secret beauty junkie and warrior by night and weekend. I learned a lot over time so much so that I became a kind of default beauty “maestra” for many of my friends. I certainly didn’t set out to do this; it just kind of happened over time.
What also happened over time was a slow realization that what worked for my skin, hair and makeup in previous decades, more often than not, absolutely definitively did not work in a more current decade. And the older I got, the less representation and relevant information for my age was out there like it had been in my teens and 20s. By the time I reached the end of my 40s, I found myself relying more and more on my own personal skincare exploration and creative trial and error gleaned from knowledge gained over much time.
This blog is dedicated to those of us in our 50s and beyond who are interested in real transformative insight about our unique age-relevant skin and beauty needs. I will share what I have learned over time and what I am continuing to learn.
my point of view
My core belief is that any one of us at any age can achieve better skin and better beauty. Beauty does not end after an arbitrary birthday. The beauty goal is not to regret what we no longer have but rather to look forward to continuously becoming our best and most confident self.

And when we are at our most confident, we are at our most positively impactful. And when we are at our most impactful, we have the ability to change so much around us for the better.
I will refrain from saying that good skincare has the ability to change the world…but close to it.
I am looking forward to taking this journey with you and together.
